Radiology Essentials Course for third year medical students
Radiology Essentials is a new innovative required course for third-year medical students, taking place during the Gateway Block of the Explorations Phase. This course was developed in direct response to enthusiastic student feedback from the Radiology Clerkship and a strong call for more radiology instruction at this stage of their education. The primary goal of Radiology Essentials is to equip students with a solid foundation in radiology, helping them excel on their clerkships.
Over the span of this intensive week, faculty, fellows, and residents will deliver focused subspecialty lectures and lead interactive small-group sessions. In the small-group sessions, students will learn to select the most appropriate imaging studies for common clinical scenarios and practice identifying key pathologies using cases uploaded to a web-based PACS system. Additionally, there is a hands-on session that will provide invaluable experience in interventional radiology and ultrasound.
This important curriculum would not be possible without the dedication and expertise of our radiology faculty, fellows, and residents.
