Neil Resnick, MD, associate professor of radiology and interventional radiology division chief gave multiple international and national presentations this spring.

Dr. Resnick represented UMass and the United States as faculty at the Canadian Association for Interventional Radiology’s Grand Slams and Catastrophes 2026 conference. He presented three lectures on lessons learned from cases involving complex TIPS, pseudoanerysm coil embolization, and stellate ganglion cryoneurolysis.

Invited by the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE) Online Education Committee Chairperson to curate a Topic Package on Cryoneurolysis.  Topic packages consist of a selection of lectures from CIRSE events, CIRSE Academy course, guidelines and further reading materials focused on specific topics in the field of IR.  Over the years, topic packages have been one of CIRSE’s most popular online educational resources viewed by hundreds of members per month.  The Cryoneurolysis topic package has been accepted and will be published this spring in the CIRSE Library platform and promoted in their social media channels.

Dr. Resnick represented the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) in presenting at an LCD Open Meeting for NGS whereby he advocated for increased coverage for Basivertebral Nerve Ablation (BVNA), an important intervention for patients with vertebrogenic back pain. NGS (National Government Services) is the Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) for Medicare Parts A and B in New England, managing claims and services for Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. They are a major contractor for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
