Community Engaged Faculty (CEF) Program

This program supports the recruitment of qualified clinician educators (dual faculty) with professional and personal experiences that align with our health equity mission and who will be engaged meaningfully in student-facing activities within their first year of hire. Applicants must demonstrate unique abilities, such as commitment to and experience mentoring learners from a variety of backgrounds and advocating for social and other challenges that burden the populations we serve. The CEF provides a 4-year financial benefit. To date, a total of 24 faculty members have been hired through this program.

Application

Department Chairs who wish to nominate a faculty recruit for the CEF program should contact the Office of Health Equity to request an application form.

In addition, a candidate interview with the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Medical Education (Manas Das, MD), the Assistant Dean for Clerkship Curriculum (Erin McMaster, MD), or the Assistant Dean for Early and Advanced Clinical Curricula (Trish Seymour, MD) is required to ascertain the candidate's interests, experience and commitment to specific educational role(s) and the anticipated start date for this role(s).
