Parking Violations
Parking Enforcement, Appeals & Payments
Designated parking areas are available for employees, visitors, students, and patients. Parking in unauthorized or illegal areas may result in a citation. Unpaid tickets will incur a $5 penalty after 21 days, followed by Registry of Motor Vehicles notification and additional legal penalties.
Enforcement
University Police and Parking Services enforce campus parking rules and Massachusetts motor vehicle laws. Violations may result in citations, towing, booting, or impoundment at the owner's expense.
- Citations must be paid or appealed within 21 days.
- Employees or students with 3+ violations will have their manager notified. Continued violations may be escalated to HR.
- Those owing $500+ may receive a wheel lock. Payment (cash only) is required by 3:00 PM the same day for removal.
Appeals
Appeals must be submitted online within 21 days of the ticket date. Late appeals are not accepted. Visit www.umassmed.rmcpay.com to submit.
Payments
Tickets can be paid online or in person (cash only) at the Parking Office, 1st floor of the Medical School. Payments are no longer accepted at the Bursar’s Office.
