Medical Education Fellowship
EM Fellowship in Medical Education
We have a two-year, non-ACGME fellowship, where fellows will work closely with our Education Division in the Department of Emergency Medicine at UMass Chan. During the program, fellows will work closely with our academic faculty and both UME and GME trainees. They can serve as leaders, lecturers, simulation and procedural instructors based on the fellow's interests.
Our goal is to help fellows develop skills based on their interests and goals. Additionally, they will be working towards completion of a Masters in Health Professions Education.
Components of the Program:
Clinical: Fellows will be appointed as a Clinical Instructor at UMass Chan and staff as an Attending in the ED with both residents and medical students at our University Campus and a community campus.
Education: Fellows will develop expertise through experiences (Simulation, resident and student didactics, cadaver labs) and a completion of a Master's Program.
Teaching: Fellows will be given the opportunity to teach in a variety of educational settings depending on their interest.
Administration: Fellows will be active members of Program Evaluation Committee, Clinical Competency Commitee, and Residency Interview Committee throughout their fellowship.
Research/Scholarship: Fellows will have ample opportunities to create and collaborate with faculty members to develop scholarship in their interests. They are encouraged to present findings on a local and national level.
Leadership: Fellows will have ample opportunities to be leaders (EMIG, committees) dependign on their interest on both a local and national level.
Professional Development: Fellows, if interested, can attend courses offered through the UMass Chan Medical School and on a local, regional, or national level.

Dr. Tisch is an EM physician and current Medical Education fellow. She atttended Perelman School of Medicine at The University of Pennsylvania and completed residency at UMass Chan Medical School. Her clinical interests are Bedside Teaching, Simulation, Didactics, & Mentorship.
