Committee on Equal Opportunity and Diversity (CEOD)
The Committee on Equal Opportunity and Diversity (CEOD) is a standing committee that reports to Chancellor Collins to make recommendations for a diverse, equitable, inclusive and just organization. The CEOD is co-chaired by a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Office and a nominated member of the CEOD. The CEOD does its work under four subcommittees as follows.
Advocacy
The Advocacy Subcommittee promotes equity across and outside UMass Chan through empowerment and amplification of the voices, lived experiences, and professional knowledge of all members of our community. We are dedicated to ensuring equitable processes and robust protections for marginalized groups, creating a framework where advocacy is both safe and accessible for everyone. Our goal is to enhance and streamline our advocacy processes, while educating our community on the skills of becoming a confident, effective advocate. Our work spans across policies, patients, peers, and issues that strengthen our mission and how we live and work together. Guided by the values of collaboration, service, and innovation, we aim to enrich, expand, and advance the mission of UMass Chan through equitable community advocacy.
