[Page Type] Faculty Listing Page
The faculty listing page allows the editor to easily keep a list of faculty, staff, or students. Each person is created as a page which can be sorted or filtered based on tagging, name or the content order. Items in the list are each a "faculty page," and can be used to list people, places or things, not just faculty. The faculty pages exist in the global components container/folder of the microsite. Each page consists of: faculty name (headline), academic role (subhead), program(s), lab(s), profile link, and a description.
Program and lab names are content items providing the editor to create "tags" as needed. While the default label is "Programs" and "Labs," these can be easily changed to fit the needs of the items being displayed in the list to help with organization, sorting and filtering.
Properties of this page:
- limiting the items in the list
- setting pagination for longer lists
- setting the filter to control the list (by last name, program, lab, or taxonomy category) and create multiple pages to break up the lists
- ex: list of faculty with the last name beginning with "A"
- ex: list of faculty in a particular program or lab
- ex: list of courses for a particular program
- Setting a horizontal list of letters at the top of the page allowing users to click a letter to scroll to that section of the page
