The iSPARC (Implementation Science and Practice Advances Research Center) is a part of the UMass Chan Medical School's Department of Psychiatry

We are a Massachusetts Department of Mental Health (DMH) Center of Excellence for Public Mental Health Services and Implementation Research that aims to improve the mental and behavioral health of all citizens of Massachusetts and beyond. iSPARC is committed to transferring knowledge and insights gained through rigorous research to improve the lives of people with lived mental health experience.

We conduct Participatory Action Research, an all-inclusive approach that ensures that every aspect of our research incorporates the voices of those with lived mental health experience.

Current Opportunities Include:

Law & Psychiatry Program

Research Coordinator I: This is a full-time role assisting with justice-related research and implementation projects involving youth and adult legal settings within the Law & Psychiatry Program at iSPARC. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in preparing reports and presentations.

The National Collaborative for Implementation Support

Implementation Support Specialist I is a part-time role that involves close collaboration with criminal-justice agencies to support coordinated efforts in data collection and deployment of support strategies. The ideal candidates will have 1 year of professional experience in planning activities, teamwork, communication, and collaboration. Be empathetic, and curious, have strong critical thinking skills, be committed to change initiatives, be committed to advancing equity in implementation efforts, and embrace cross-disciplinary approaches.
