Milford Regional Medical Center Radiology

On January 1st 2025, UMMH Milford Regional Medical Center, our fourth community hospital, integrated their radiology services under the leadership of the UMass Department of Radiology. Milford’s busy 52-bed ER, 148-bed hospital, Dana-Farber affiliated cancer center, and network of outpatient clinics will increase our department's imaging volume by at least 25%. Long-term staffing plans include building out the on-site radiology group at Milford from four radiologists to eight, recruiting an IR APC, and shifting some subspecialty volume to our divisions at UMass. Currently, a phenomenal team of dedicated UMass, Shields, and Milford radiologists are working tirelessly to keep all service lines open at Milford and the volume flowing while we hire up and complete our IT integration.
Since go-live, we have expanded our reading room coordinator model to Milford, built out PET remote reading capabilities, automated and standardized ED discrepancy and communication pathways, created a dedicated oncology reading room, and much more! Your involvement and expertise are crucial to our success.
What can you do to get involved?
- Reach out via email or phone to your specialty liaison at Milford. The Milford clinicians are a great group - they love having open lines of communication and we can collaborate to best meet their needs and enhance patient care.
- Have the winter doldrums? Moonlight for Milford! We offer diverse shifts to match various skill sets, ensuring everyone finds a perfect fit. Remote workstations are available at UNV and Wellesley.
- Want to shake up your routine or revisit your work/life balance? Consider becoming a Milford rad! We are accruing a great group of enthusiastic rads in a hybrid academic/private practice model with competitive compensation. Staffing will be near complete by July 1.
Thank you for your continued dedication and support during this exciting time.
