Shrutika Mintri and Pooja Parameswaran Receive RISE Research Trainee Awards 

The Department of Medicine is excited to announce the winners of the RISE: The Robert W. Finberg, MD Memorial Research Trainee Awards. Under the mentorship of Drs. Stefania Gallucci and Kate Fitzgerald, Shrutika Mintri, a PhD candidate in the lab of Dr. Fitzgerald, received a trainee award for her project titled, “Characterizing inflammasome activation by bacterial amyloid Curli complexes from biofilms in dendritic cells.” 

Pooja Parameswaran, a student in the Morningside Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at UMass Chan and the lab of Dr. Megan Orzalli in the Division of Infectious Diseases and Immunology, received a trainee award for her project titled “HSV-1 inhibits NLRP1 induced pyroptosis in primary human keratinocytes.”
