Lawrence Rosenthal, MD, PhDLawrence Rosenthal Honored with Heart of Gold Award by the American Heart Association

Lawrence Rosenthal, MD, PhD, professor of medicine in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, and director of Cardiac Devices and Electrophysiology, was presented with the Heart of Gold Award for Heart and Vascular Medical Professional from the American Heart Association. Dr. Rosenthal is honored for his nearly 30 years of advancing treatments for heart rhythm disorders, stroke prevention, and more.

“This was an unexpected honor, and I am deeply humbled. I have been at UMass Memorial for the past 28 years and have had the privilege of working with many hard working, dedicated people whose sole focus is patient care. The idiom that ‘it takes a village’ is so true and I look at the Heart Ball as an affirmation of the efforts of many. It is a time to rejoice and acknowledge the dedication we all have for our patients,” said Dr. Rosenthal.  “I have also had the privilege of mentoring almost 30 EP fellows and they have all left UMass with the competence and confidence to succeed in practice, both private and academic. It my hope is that they will also continue to share their knowledge with others.”

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Rosenthal on this achievement!
