Jad Ayash, MD
Assistant Professor, Cornea SpecialistDr. Ayash received a Bachelor of Science in Biology at the American University of Beirut, Lebanon. He has a doctor of medicine degree from the University of Balamand School of Medicine. He completed his surgical internship and ophthalmology residency at Saint George Hospital University Medical Center. In the United States he completed an ophthalmic genetics fellowship at Harvard Medical School and two cornea, external diseases, and refractive surgery fellowships at Park Avenue Laser Vision and Callahan Eye Hospital at University of Alabama, Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine. Benjamin Botsford, MD
Assistant Professor, Associate Residency Program Director, Surgical Retina SpecialistBorn and raised in Rhode Island, Benjamin Botsford, MD joined the Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences in the summer 2022. Jessica Capri, OD, JD
OptometristDr. Capri graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology. She was part of a research project at Schepens Eye Research Institute which sparked her interest in eye care. This interest grew following her time working with The Carroll Center for the Blind where she developed a passion for low vision rehabilitation- a specialty focused on working with legally blind and visually impaired patients.
She graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois, and went on to complete her residency training in Low Vision and Ocular Disease at the West Haven Veterans Hospital. Following residency, she spent time in private practice before heading back to academic medicine with a goal to teach others. Read more ›

Juan Ding, OD, PhD
Assistant ProfessorDr. Ding graduated Summa Cum Laude from The New England College of Optometry in 2017. She achieved the highest score in National Optometry Board Exam among over one thousand candidates in 2016. Prior to a clinical career, Ding received her PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Ohio University. Read more ›

Isha Ingle, MD
Assistant Professor, Glaucoma SpecialistDr. Ingle completed her ophthalmology residency and a glaucoma fellowship at Aravind Eye Hospital in India. She then worked as an assistant professor and glaucoma consultant at National Institute of Medical Sciences, Jaipur India. She completed a fellowship at Park Avenue LASEK in Manhattan and then a neuro-ophthalmology fellowship from University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. To further enhance her skills, she had another glaucoma fellowship at Henry Ford Health in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Ingle’s areas of interest are medical and surgical management of glaucoma, quality of life studies and clinical research in glaucoma. Read more ›

Professor and Director of Retina & Macular Degeneration Center of Excellence, Residency Program Director, Retina SpecialistDr. Seddon pioneered the field of epidemiology in ophthalmology and initiated studies of genetics in macular degeneration. He is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. Dr. Teng received his undergraduate degree from The University of Chicago and Doctor of Medicine from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. He completed his Ophthalmology residency at New York University Medical Center and fellowship in Glaucoma at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. He received his MBA from Yale School of Management.
