Emilee Herringshaw

Hometown: Longmeadow, MassachusettsEmilee grew up in western Massachusetts and attended Boston College, where she earned a degree in biochemistry. After graduation, she worked as the lead clinical assistant at Newton Wellesley Dermatology Associates. She went on to earn her Medical Degree and Master of Business Administration at UMass, where she was actively involved in research across various dermatologic topics, including contact dermatitis, melanoma, congenital nevi, and calciphylaxis. During medical school, she completed a year of dedicated research under the mentorship of Rox Anderson at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine, investigating novel approaches to depigmentation for the treatment of congenital melanocytic nevi.
She is grateful for the opportunity to continue her training at UMass, where she also completed her intern year. Her professional interests include complex medical dermatology, procedural dermatology, and advancing dermatologic care through innovation and research.
Outside of medicine, Emilee loves running around the Wachusett Reservoir and exploring the food scene of Worcester. She enjoys spending time with her family including her fiancé, Ben, who is a general surgery resident at UMass and her dog Sierra, who is a mini Australian Shephard mix.

Vaishali Mittal

Hometown: Madison, INVaishali grew up in Madison, a small Main Street town near Kentucky. She earned her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience at Brown University. Between college and medical school, she conducted clinical research in Boston while working as a barista at local coffee shops. It was during this time that she met her husband, Alex. Vaishali completed her medical training at Stanford University, and served as a clinical fellow under Dr. Jean Tang, focusing on epidermolysis bullosa research. She completed her internship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Brockton Hospital, and she looks forward to returning to Massachusetts.
Vaishali is passionate about healthcare services and policy, medical education, mentoring, and advocating for underserved communities. She cherishes time with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys hiking, playing tennis, expanding her plant collection, cooking, and watching true crime shows.

Alice Tan
College: Cornell University
Medical School: UMass Chan
Hometown: Boston, MAAlice attended Cornell University for undergrad and obtained her medical degree from UMass Chan Medical School. She completed a research fellowship at MGH where she led clinical studies relating to inpatient dermatology and pediatric dermatology. After completing her intern year at UMass, Alice was thrilled to join the UMass Dermatology family and continue contributing through patient care and medical advocacy. Her interests include complex medical dermatology, pediatric dermatology, procedures, and health policy. Outside of work, she enjoys celebrating holidays, traveling, birding, baking, and pilates.

Nicole Trepanowski
College: Northeastern University
Medical School: Boston University
Hometown: Downingtown, PANicole was born and raised in southeastern Pennsylvania. She attended Northeastern University for her undergraduate studies, where she majored in Biochemistry and interned at Amgen and Pfizer, working in drug discovery. She attended medical school at Boston University School of Medicine and completed a research fellowship in melanoma epidemiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Dana Farber Cancer Institute, under the mentorship of Dr. Rebecca Hartman. After completing her Internal Medicine preliminary year at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, she stayed at Dartmouth for one year working as a sub-investigator on dermatology clinical trials and conducting cutaneous oncology research. She remains interested in cutaneous oncology and is thrilled to join UMass Dermatology for residency. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, skiing, trying new restaurants, and traveling.
